Can-umantad Falls - the tallest fall in Bohol, Philippines

Updated: April 22, 2023

Can-Umantad Falls in Candijay is one of the most impressive waterfalls you will find on the incredible island of Bohol, Philippines! It is considered as the tallest waterfall in Bohol located at Brgy. Cadapdapan approximately 14-15 kms from Brgy. Poblacion. Can-umantad was named after its height (can-uman or 60) since it is 60ft high.

The water starts from a river lined by lush trees. Due to its height, the cool water falls down in multiple layers before finally splashing in the natural basin below. From afar, the waterfalls look as one steep drop but actually, the falls drops over a deep ravine first, and then over a cliff, until it makes one last drop. Solid rocks below the upper and middle falls form natural swimming pools, with deep portions concentrated near the falls while the water becomes shallow at the rims.

The stream at the foot of the falls is ideal for either camping or swimming since the flow of water here is not that strong compared with the upper and middle falls.
